Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a business process management software that manages and integrates a company’s financials, supply chain, operations, reporting, manufacturing, and human resource activities. ERP is usually referred to as a category of business management software—typically a suite of integrated applications—that an organization can use to collect, store, manage, and interpret data from many business activities. An ERP application is a system that shares data across various departments that provide the data and facilitates information flow between all business functions and manages connections to outside stakeholders.
ERP systems run on a variety of computer hardware and network configurations, typically using a database as an information repository. As company’s needs change and they expand, their systems should keep up with them.
